I mean, who would put this book down?! I loved that the story of Shadow Hills was completely unique. So hooray for my book-baby! That pulls you toward him.

Not only that, but her handling of not only two differing paranormal worlds, plus a suspense mystery story, plus a love story, PLUS the musings of a young girl who is trying to deal with the loss of her sister was well done. The editor s should have cut out a few scenes, because it seemed like there were too many "in between" parts. As soon as Phe arrived in Shadow Hills, I was full of anticipation in wanting to know more about the town and the mystery guy in her dreams.

There are so many mysteries shrouding her life and they all begin with the death of her sister. A town full of people who are are completely human, but have more superior brain functions.

Overall I really loved this one and can't wait for the sequel since there were some unanswered questions that lingered, but I'm glad that it didn't leave on a cliffy.

Or eyes that change color. Phe was basically Bella--except Bella is like a total badass when compared to Phe. Her love interest Zach is a guy you would want to date yourself. If you are like me and you need a break from the usual vampires, werewolves, and fairies, check out Shadow Hills this summer. Because of that, it seemed forced and not believable at times, but like I said, it never really disturbed me to the point where it took away from the story.

My second problem was the writing. Each page turn was a suspenseful surprise. Every school needs a mean girl like Corinne, but I felt like Zach was too influenced by his sister at times.

After months of grieving an Shadow Hills got me hooked from page 1! On the one hand, I really liked Hopcus' incorporation of real weird history and science like the story of the town of Eyamand the witch trialsand thought anxstasia this aspect added a great layer to the story.

She is dealing with her sisters tragic death and isn't accepting the theory surrounding it. The latter two seem to have some huge, long-buried secret, which she naturally and somewhat inconsiderately tries to unearth.

These two are instantly drawn to each other, and their romance is hot. When I was reading this one, I felt an overall sense of impending doom and discomfort, which is pretty awesome. She is an extraordinary writer. So go ahead and read Shadow Hills you know you want to! Being a lover of music, I always find it interesting to see what other people are listening too.

I'm sure this will lead to a sequel that I will be so excited to get my hands on. Another thing, Zach tells her the secret about the town after a few days of him knowing herbreaking the rules, what coud have resulted in his banishment, he tells his sister, untill there no complain but that he told Phe his secret.
